The expedition

In 2015 Team Enterprise trekked to the Geographic North Pole. This time their objective is the Geographic South Pole, becoming among the very few to have skied to both top and bottom of the planet. The expedition begins in December, 2017, setting out for Antarctica from Punta Arenas, the bottom tip of Chile. Hauling their equipment and supplies the team plan to reach the South Pole just before Christmas.

While North and South Poles share the hostility of extreme cold and unpredictable weather, the terrain and challenges are different. The team have made it across the frozen sea of the Arctic Ocean; this expedition will take them close to 10,000 ft above sea level, dragging sledges across rock solid sastrugi with the constant threat of high winds.

The team will fly from London to Santiago, Chile and then plane hop to Punta Arenas at the Southern tip of Chile. From there they will board a Russian Ilyushin Il-76 plane for their flight across the Southern Ocean to Union Glacier in Antarctica before starting their expedition to ski to the South Pole.

2015 North Pole

In 2015 Arctic Enterprise successfully completed an expedition to the Geographic North Pole in difficult weather conditions. Frequent open water and several equipment failures tested the team’s resourcefulness.

Prince's Trust

For the young people that we work with, The Prince’s Trust is often the last resort. When young people first come to us their confidence is usually at rock bottom. They may have struggled at school, been in care, been long-term unemployed or in trouble with the law. Often they think that their future is already mapped out with little or no prospect of personal or professional success.

It’s amazing how quickly our staff and volunteers can help them to change their outlook. We believe that every young person should have the chance to succeed. The Prince’s Trust runs nine different programmes aimed at young people aged from 13-30 to help them to identify their strengths, take responsibility for themselves and work towards a career and future they can be proud of.

Roundhouse

The Roundhouse is an iconic live performance space in London. It was first transformed from an old train shed to a performing arts centre some 50 years ago, and for the last ten years has been transforming young lives through creativity. Today it is a hub of inspiration where artists and emerging talent create extraordinary work and where young people can grow creatively as individuals.

Each year the Roundhouse gives over 3,000 young people the chance to develop skills and confidence through creativity. By giving young people the chance to engage with the arts through our music, media and performance projects, we inspire them to dream bigger and achieve more, with over 55% of the young people reached by the Roundhouse impacted by some form of disadvantage.
